Statutory Orders May 2007 electoral pilots: Bedford and Sunderland Amendment Orders [2 May 2007]
These are the 12 Statutory Orders and 3 Amendment Orders that enable local authorities or groups of authorities to conduct electoral pilot schemes at the May 2007 local elections. Each Order amends the current legislation and reflects the exact nature of the innovation for the pilot to be legally compliant. The pilot authorities were announced on 29 January 2007.

The Value Added Tax Tribunals (Amendment) Rules 2007
This document seeks views about proposed amendments to the Value Added Tax Tribunals Rules 1986, intended to: broaden the definition of 'appellant' so the VAT and Duties Tribunal can take on new jurisdictions; and take account of an amendment made to the Tobacco Products Duty Act 1979.

Part 46 of the Civil Procedure Rules: Fast track trial costs
This consultation paper makes proposals in relation to Part 46 of the Civil Procedure Rules, which deals with fast track trial costs. The paper proposes that these costs should be increased to take account of the rise in inflation since they were first introduced in April 1999.

It should be read together with the full Consultation Paper CP 28/06 and accompanying Partial Regulatory Impact Assessment which were issued by the Department on 14 December 2006.
