What if the claim fails?
You will not have to pay your own lawyer, but may have to pay the costs of the successful party - the other side and disbursements which are other costs such court fees or the costs for medical reports.
Accident Consult have a relationship with an after the event insurer. With most cases the client will not have to pay for the insurance policy as this Company will effectively provide a policy where the premium is paid for. There may be some circumstances where the Company refuses to run a claim therefore the client will have to pay for the insurance. Please view our terms and conditions.
Can I claim compensation?
If you have suffered an injury which wasn’t your fault in the last three years they you may be entitled to compensation. If the accident happened when you were below 18 years of age you have until you are 21 to register your claim.
How much will I get?
Your compensation award will depend upon the extent of your injuries, your loss of earnings and any out of pocket expenses.
Will I have to pay to make a claim?
Through Accident Consult you receive 100% of the compensation awarded and it won’t cost you anything if you lose.

What is the difference between a lawyer and a claims management company?
A lawyer is a qualified practitioner and as such is regulated by their professional body. Claims management companies are not regulated and act as middlemen, not actually handling the claims themselves.
What is 'no win - no fee'?
A term used to indicate that there is no fee to pay whether you lose or win your claim and this arrangement is made by written a agreement between your lawyer and yourself and drawn up in accordance with Law Society rules. It is known as a Conditional Fee Agreement and although it protects you in respect of your own legal costs you will be required to take out insurance to cover the costs you will have to pay to your opponent if you lose.
What are "disbursements" ?
Disbrusements is the money which your solicitor has to pay to third parties to help prepare your case. For example, court fees, fees for medical or other expert reports.
