Case summaries

July 18th, 2011

I was checking the files last week and found there are a lot of case studies that are worth sharing!

Here are a sample:-

A 25 year old man from Blackpool recovered compensation of £340,000 following a road traffic accident.  He was a passenger in a friends car.  The driver lost control resulting in the car driving down an embankment.  The claimant sustained many injuries, including a broken leg, a fractured pelvis and the loss of a kidney.  Passengers are often unaware that they can claim in such circumstances and can be reluctant due to there being a friend or family member driving.

A 10 year old girl from Warrington recovered around £7,400 for trauma caused when she was left alone in a nursery toilet aged 4.  When her mother went to pick her up she found the  nursery in darkness, the staff having left early, leaving the girl alone and forgotten.

A 40 year old professional rugby coach recovered increased compensation for a neck injury because was unable to scrum down.  Damages for personal injuries can include an element for “loss of amenity” as well as actual pain and suffering.  The claimant was unable to function properly in his job and was compensated accordingly.

If you think that you may have a claim please get in touch our friendly staff can usually give an indication within minutes.
