Repetitive strain injury
Repetitive strain injury is a name used to describe many different types of soft tissue muscles and tendons injuries. This type of injury is caused from repetitive physical work and can affect any part of the body. Commonly caused by poor posture whilst sitting at a computer desk for more than a few hours a day. People doing certain sports can suffer at a result of repetitive movement and from playing a musical instrument or working on a factory production line. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and can include: a dull ache, throbbing, numbness, tingling and tightness. It is not a life threatening injury but it has the potential to cause crippling pain and disability. Some of the repetitive strain injuries are as follows:
