Exeter Accident Claims

Exeter is located in the Southwest of England, in Devon, on the east side of the banks of the River Exe. The Met Office, in charge of the country’s weather forecasting operations, relocated to Exeter from their base in Berkshire in 2004, and is now one of the main employers in the area. Exeter is also home to an 11th Century cathedral, as well as the largely intact remains of a Norman castle, which are both popular tourist attractions. In fact, the castle plays host to annual open air Shakespeare performances, laid on by the Northcott Theatre, which is currently undergoing redevelopments in time for Christmas 2007.

The University of Exeter is one of the other main employers in the City, largely due to its excellent research facilities. The campus is one of four main bases of the University of Plymouth, and also boasts a successful sports section, with many University teams from a variety of disciplines enjoying nationwide success in their respective divisions.

Exeter’s football team have not enjoyed the greatest success in recent years, and in fact were relegated from the football league for the first time in 83 years back in 2003. A valiant fight for promotion ended at Wembley in May this year, where they were beaten by Morecombe in the Conference play off final. Speedway racing, cricket, rugby union and athletics are also popular sporting attractions for the Exeter locals.

Perhaps Exeter’s most famous exports include various Archbishops of Canterbury, singer Chris Martin (Coldplay) and recent Apprentice star Katie Hopkins.

If you are unfortunate enough to suffer a personal injury whilst in Exeter, you may be unaware that it is in fact your legal and civil right to claim compensation. If it can be proved that someone else was at least partly to blame, then you may qualify for a no win, no fee case, whereby every penny of the amount awarded to you is kept; the lawyers working on your behalf collect their fee from the defending party, leaving you free to enjoy your compensation without having to worry about costs. Many firms offer a free initial compensation to assess your claim, before deciding to go ahead, and because the lawyer will not get paid in the event of losing the case, they will only take on those that they feel supremely confident in winning. This is of huge advantage to you, because you know they will be working very hard to achieve the right result, and it eliminates the likelihood of lawyers ‘quota filling’ and taking on as many cases as possible just to accumulate more fees for themselves.

The amount of compensation paid out will vary due to the type of injury sustained, as well as the perceived degree of pain and suffering. On top of this amount, damages are often awarded to compensate for the financial aspect of your injury; for example to cover any medical costs/treatment fees, and reimburse any loss of earnings if you were forced to stop work for any length of time.
