Exeter’s football team have not enjoyed the greatest success in recent years, and in fact were relegated from the football league for the first time in 83 years back in 2003. A valiant fight for promotion ended at Wembley in May this year, where they were beaten by Morecombe in the Conference play off final. Speedway racing, cricket, rugby union and athletics are also popular sporting attractions for the Exeter locals.
Perhaps Exeter’s most famous exports include various Archbishops of Canterbury, singer Chris Martin (Coldplay) and recent Apprentice star Katie Hopkins.
