Caerphilly is a town situated in south Wales and is about two or three miles north of the Cardiff suburbs of Lisvane and Rhiwbina. For a relatively small town Caerphilly is packed with places to see and things to do for both its residents and visitors.

One of the attractions that Caerphilly has to offer is Caerphilly castle; set in 30 acres of land and stands as one of the largest fortresses in Europe. It is also believed that this castle is haunted by a ghost known as the green lady. As well as the castle Caerphilly is also home to the Drenewydd museum, which is located in the heart of the ‘model town.’ The museum is situated within two cottages, one of which has been restored to how it would have originally looked in the 1870’s and recreates the events of everyday life.

Another attraction within the town of Caerphilly is Cwmcarn Forest Drive. This seven mile scenic route stretches through rolling hills and is one of the country’s largest urban forests.

The Gelligroes Mill and Candle Workshop can also be found within the town of Caerphilly. This workshop was built in the 17th century and holds a radio museum and a candle making workshop, which has a Royal warrant to make candles for Prince Charles.

As well as all of the above, Caerphilly is also home to country parks, farm parks, a skate park, riding/trekking centre and an international climbing centre meaning Caerphilly really does have something for everyone with no preference as to whether you are a visitor or a resident.
