Stockport is a large town based in Greater Manchester, which is 7 miles from the City of Manchester. It’s around the 23rd most populous district in England, due to this Stockport may become a City in the coming years.

There is a regeneration scheme happening at the moment in Stockport known as Future Stockport. This scheme sees new homes being built, as the council would like 3,000 residents of Stockport move into the town centre hoping to revitalise the retail markets and residential property.

The Grand Centre leisure Park has an Olympic sized swimming pool, a bowling alley, 10screen cinema, restaurants and a health club ideal for spending those weekends relaxing and having fun great for all the family. Other places to visit around Stockport include: Bramhall Hall, Stockport Town Hall, Stockport Story Museum, Vernon Park and Stockport Air Raid Shelters.

If you like sport check out the Edgeley Park Stadium where both Stockport County Football Club and Sale Sharks Rugby Union play. If you like swimming there’s the Stockport Metro Swimming Club, which is actually the most successful British Swimming Club.
