Close to the Welsh border and on the river Severn; Gloucester is a city and district in the English Country of Gloucestershire. It is situated 114 miles west-north-west of London and is sheltered by the Cotswolds to the east. Gloucester is also linked to the Severn Estuary via the Gloucester and Sharpness canal.
