Preventative Training In The Workplace

Workplace accidents are unfortunately common. They can happen in many different situations, and even people who work in a seemingly safe office can still get injured whilst at work. This is why it is essential for an employee to organise preventative training to warn his or her employees of the risks involved in working on the premises.

Accidents in the workplace often involve new workers as they are not yet aware of the dangers involved with the role. This is where early preventative training and induction procedures can help to eliminate the risk of accidents and consequent injuries.

Preventative training will of course vary depending on the industry and occupation, and it is the employer’s responsibility to provide the most effective training possible. For example the training given to employees working in an office will be very different from the sort of training construction workers will receive.

The construction industry is a notoriously dangerous industry to be involved in and it is essential for all new employees to receive a full induction as possible when starting on a new site. The training should involve information on protective equipment, correct procedures and health and safety regulations. Failure to provide appropriate information on any of the health and safety issues could well amount to negligence and would mean that you are eligible to claim compensation for your injuries.

Even though in an office environment the risk of sustaining a serious injury is much smaller than on a construction site, accidents in the office still happen. However, most of these accidents could have been avoided if the employer was to enforce the correct health and safety precautions and provide appropriate training. Again, it is essential for any new member of staff to undergo an induction wherein they are informed of any potential hazards and how best to avoid accidents.

Whilst it may be clear that some work environments carry more of a risk of injury than others, this is not to say that an accident is not possible in any workplace.

The biggest thing that puts people off claiming compensation is the fear that they will lose their job or even get treated badly by their employer. This is in fact illegal, so you really don’t need to let worry put you off making a claim.

If you think that you may be entitled to compensation following an accident at work that wasn’t your fault, then talk to the experienced team of specialist personal injury lawyers at Accident Consult today for more information on how to make a successful claim.
